Hotel and Accommodations
The Hilton Concord is the official hotel of the conference and will host our Thursday night Opening Ceremony, our Friday night Keynote presentation, and our Saturday night Social Event. Friday will include dinner (this is included in the conference fee). This will be the most convenient place to stay for the purposes of the conference.
The conference has secured 125 rooms at the Hilton Concord at a reduced rate -- from 103.00 USD/night plus tax (single and double occupancy). The hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to sites within a five-mile radius, which includes JFK University and Concord BART. There are excellent restaurants at the hotel as well as numerous restaurants and stores nearby. Complimentary (wired) high speed internet service is included.

Housing with JFK Faculty and Students
There may be an opportunity for some conference attendees to be hosted by a local JFK University faculty member or student. These opportunities will be limited.
If you are interested in this possibility, please contact us at ITC@jfku.edu and title the email "Hosted by JFK". We will consider these requests based on a combination of need and timing of response (earlier inquiries will get more consideration).
Conference Location and the Bay Area
The Integral Theory Conference will take place in the Northern California Bay Area, one of the most popular travel destinations in the United States. The conference is within a one-hour drive of San Francisco, Napa Valley, and the John Muir redwood forest. It is a three hour drive to Monterey and the Big Sur coastline. We encourage those coming from out of state or from outside the US to extend their stay in the area before or after the conference.
John F. Kennedy University is located in Pleasant Hill,California, approximately 40 miles from San Francisco, 20 miles from Oakland, and 55 miles from San Jose. All aspects of the conference, other than the Thursday night opening ceremony and Friday and Saturday night keynote presentations and dinners, will take place at JFK.

Flight and Transportation Information
We recommend participants fly into the San Francisco or Oakland airports for the conference. Transportation to and from those airports is available from the following websites, with more detailed information provided below. Any group transportation arrangements are the responsibility of conference participants.
San Francisco Airport Shuttles
Non rush-hour drive times to Pleasant Hill will be approximately one half-hour from Oakland and forty-five minutes from San Francisco. The Bay Area Rapid Transit System (BART) is the most cost effective way of traveling to the Pleasant Hill area, at a cost of $8-10 one way. A taxi or hotel shuttle will likely need to be called for pick up from the BART station. If you are staying at the Hilton, the HIlton provides free shuttle service from the Concord BART station and you will need to call for the hotel for shuttle pick up.
Detailed BART directions from the San Francisco and Oakland airports to the Pleasant Hill area:
From the San Francisco Airport, it is easiest to take the Pittsburg / Baypoint BART to Pleasant Hill or Concord Stations. The trains run approximately every 20 minutes. When at the airport, take the Airtrain to Garage G / BART. Depending on time of day, BART will take 45 minutes - 1.5 hours from the airport to Concord.
From the Oakland Airport, take the AirBart shuttle to the Coliseum/Oakland Airport Station. The shuttle runs every 10 minutes and $3 in exact change is required, payable on the shuttle. Take BART to the McArthur station and then transfer to the Pittsburg / Baypoint train. Take BART to Pleasant Hill or Concord stations.
The Thursday,Friday and Saturday evening events will take place at the Hilton Concord, located less than two miles from JFK There will be a shuttle service between JFK and the Hilton for transportation for the opening night and to both dinners.
Meal Information
The conference fee includes dinner Friday night at the Concord Hilton. Vegetarian options will be available for the dinner. No other meals are included in the conference fee. Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase on site at the JFK cafeteria. Complimentary coffee and tea will be provided at the conference.
There are numerous restaurants within a short distance of JFK including the Outback Steakhouse and Chevys.
Weather and Clothing
Temperature in the Bay Area during August varies widely.
Pleasant Hill itself is quite warm during July/August. Temperatures range from 90-100 F (32-38 C). However, please note that temperatures in Oakland, San Francisco, and the coast can be significantly colder due to fog, ranging from 50-60 F (10-16 C). Please pack plenty of light clothing as well as layers if you plan to go outside of Pleasant Hill.
