I know that my wife and I aren't the only people "out there" who are integrally informed and living in a rural area - there is never "a single instance".
We are making our home on a forty-acre parcel of forested agricultural land halfway between the towns of Salmon Arm (12km away, pop 17000) and Enderby (pop 5000) in southern British Columbia. We would love to meet up with anyone in a similar situation, as well as anyone who is working/interested in the areas of sustainable development, agriculture/permaculture, and community building.

One topic of discussion I would like to introduce: What could be possible with a combination of integrally informed 2nd/3rd-tier conciousness, high-speed internet technology, an intact/undeveloped natural environment, and no building codes?

Looking forward to meeting everyone who is contributing to the conscious evolution of consciousness....

I'm living in Lima, Peru at the moment but my wife and I have some land and farm buildings in the north of England. At the moment the land is farmed under contract but we would like to see a biodynamic system established. The property also backs onto a main road and we are close to two villages. I'd like to set up a farm shop and in the long run establish a centre for sustainability, healing and creativity.

I'd be interested to talk about food quality, land degradation, raising fuel prices, community building and creative approaches to marketing farm produce (perhaps also selected imports from Peru).

Farmerboy, this is truly a small world. I'm on a rural acerage 20 miles east of Enderby, B.C. I'm interested in the rural development from the forest/farm perspective, especially the impact climate change will have on the individual and community.

Hello!

Another message from BC... :) We live in the Slocan Valley (50km from Nelson) on an 80-acre piece of land. We are desiging a small-scale integral "village" (10-12 home sites) here. Before this, we spent a decade living in an integrally informed intentional community, which my husband founded in 1992.

Would be great to touch base with you all!

For further info about what we are up to, see www.nextstepintegral.org

Warmly,
Miriam

Holy cow, I didn't know rural BC was home to such a wealth of Integrally informed people.

Anywho, if anyone wants to contact me and make arrangements to meet at the conference, or drop by for tea sometime if they happen to be driving by, please email me -

This is going to be soooo much fun....

unfortunately i was unable to register for the theory conference but figured that i would go down anyways and hang out with the incredible sangha that will be gathering then. i am VP of the slow food convivium in calgary and am very much interested in all topics concerning food production/agriculture. keep me in the loop if you intend to meet as a group! i'll be the one car-camping in the pkg lot (orange honda...) !

Well then, why don't all of us agricultural-foodie/ruralites (western canadian or otherwise) meet up sometime at Eric's orange honda for an integrally informed "tailgate party" - or "trunk party" if it isn't a hatchback....

I am making this suggestion only because I have never been to JFKU and hence Eric's orange honda is the only "landmark" I am aware of. If anyone who is familiar with the facilities could suggest a more appropriate venue, that would be great. Is it possible to set up a date/time beforehand, or will it most likely be a "lunch meeting" once people have milled around enough to figure out who's who?

ha! this is grand.

i was just sitting here planning a day trip to an oyster farm out at drakes bay (north of SF) and was thinking about bringing back a case or two bi-valves and having a tailgate oyster party at JFKU! (i am an avowed oyster-phile and run a wholesale shellfish business up in canada. anyone interested in delving into the tantra of oyster love?

Oysters, Orange Honda, sounds like a good fit. There may also be a message board at registration.
